Emergency Shelter to Open August 1
August 1 is the opening date of the Emergency Shelter for county residents who have nowhere else to sleep. The center will be open for sheltering Monday – Thursday 7PM – 7AM. A HUD Emergency Shelter Grant will be utilized to fund the operational costs.
1st Franklin Financial Donates $35,000
1st Franklin Financial recently donated $35,000 to FFTS to help with the shelter’s operational costs. Representative John Rice applied for and received a grant on behalf of the center. The company has been involved in the past by donating food, toiletries, etc. and this is the second large financial donation that has been made in 5 years.

Recently, The 2016 Camden Lugoff Area Shag Society (CLASS) held a Shag Blast which raised $6000! $3000 has been designated to FFTS and $3000 will go to The Community Medical Clinic. Thank you to Paula Sue Truesdale and the club whose dedication to community issues is so very appreciated.

Cooking Matters to Hold Class
Weekly classes teaching healthy meal preparation and shopping wisely will start August 9 at the center for 6 weeks. Meals will be prepared in a fun setting with take home recipes and freegroceries after each lesson. Sign up by calling Darlene Thomas at 432-4771.
